Each year, the North Texas LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce recognizes outstanding individuals, businesses, and organizations with the Pride In Business Awards. Award recipients represent the best of who we are as business and community leaders.

Award Process

  • Self-nomination is both allowed and encouraged
  • Please ensure that if you are nominating another member that they are willing to accept the award and participate in the Pride In Business Celebration luncheon on DATE.
  • Past award recipients must observe a five-year waiting period before being eligible for nomination in the same category of their previous recognition. A list of past award recipients may be found here https://www.lgbtchamber.com/pride-in-business-awards/
  • For awards denoting LGBTQ+, the nominee must self-identify as an LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning or another underrepresented sexual orientation or gender identity) individual or business (depending on the award)
  • For awards denoting LGBTBE®, the nominee must be an LGBTBE® Certified business in good standing
  • Nominations must be submitted by the deadline of 11:59 p.m., DATE
  • All nominees must be Chamber members in good standing to be eligible to nominate for any award or to be selected as an award recipient

The LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce Foundation awards scholarships to build leadership and promote diversity in the  communities. Scholarships may be used for any postsecondary education, including nontraditional/alternative programs and vocational training.   

Applicants must provide proof they are a resident of Texas.  Applicants are considered a "resident" if they:

  1. currently live in Texas and have done so for at least three months before the application deadline; or
  2. have lived in Texas for at least one year at any time within the five years before the application deadline; or
  3. have lived in Texas for more than one year at any time and have been continuously enrolled in an accredited academic institution for the five years before the application deadline.

Applicants may study at any accredited school or certificate program. However, preference may be given to those studying in Texas and/or North Texas.

References

All scholarship applicants are required to provide two (2) reference forms; at least one from a teacher, counselor, or other academic representative.
